Garda Lake is the largest of the Italian lakes. To the south it is surrounded by the hills left by the retreat of the glacier that formed the lake, now cultivated with vineyards dedicated to the production of Lugana wine. In the north it is surrounded by Mount Baldo and the so-called "Profile of Napoleon" which give it the narrow shape and which protect the coasts making the microclimate particularly mild.
Probably the mix of climate, cultivation (primarily olive trees and vines) and attractions make Lake Garda one of the most popular tourist destinations in northern Italy.
